Voyager & Explorer of the Seas To Receive Flowrider

Mobimar, a Finnish maritime construction firm, has leaked information pertaining to the future installment of Flowrider surfing simulators for two of Royal Caribbean’s Voyager Class ships.

According to a page on the Mobimar website, the firm was contracted by Royal Caribbean to construct the Flowrider modules for three Voyager Class ships. The first module was built and shipped to the Bahamas for installation aboard the Navigator of the Seas during her extended drydock earlier this year. The firm states similar Flowrider modules will be installed aboard Voyager of the Seas and Explorer of the Seas later this year.

According to the firm, each Flowrider moduleĀ contains the surrounding stands, canopies, lights, water treatment system, Hi-Fog system, piping and cabling connections to the ship. The installation of each module requires approximately 30 days with minor advance preparation prior to entry into drydock.

Voyager of the Seas is scheduled to enter drydock in May 2014 followed by the Explorer of the Seas in February 2015.
