Royal Caribbean’s brand new Ovation of the Seas will have two larger than life passengers: two giant pandas.
Following in the (paw)steps of the earlier Quantum Class ships, Ovation of the Seas will feature a large animal sculpture on her upper decks. For Ovation of the Seas, the large panda display will bring awareness to Royal Caribbean’s recent partnership with World Wildlife Fund. The pandas also fit well with Ovation’s planned sailings throughout Asia, soon regularly sailing from Tianjin, China.
Earlier Quantum Class ships of Royal Caribbean feature similar animal sculptures. Quantum of the Seas, the class’ flagship, features a magenta polar bear known as Felicia, while Anthem of the Seas is home to Gigi, a large giraffe wearing a swimsuit and inter tube.
Ovation of the Seas, the newest ship for the line, joined the Royal Caribbean fleet earlier last week. Ovation of the Seas, currently sailing from Southampton, will set sail on Royal Caribbean’s “Global Odyssey” on May 3, calling in ports across Europe, the Persian Gulf, and Asia while the ship repositions to her homeport in Tianjin, China.
As for Ovation of the Seas’ new pandas, they will join the new ship in Southampton tomorrow, however, we are waiting to see if they will be given names. Feel free to leave your suggestions in the comment section below.
