Tropical Storm Irene (Update 2)

Update 2 – August 21 10:13pm

Due to the movement of TS Irene, the Carnival Victory left the Port of San Juan at 6pm today instead of 10pm. Here is the news and current itinerary changes straight from John Heald,

Due to the track of the storm the Carnival Victory is now forced to deviate to a safe operating distance, this means the port of call in St. Thomas on 08/22/11 is now lost. The Carnival Victory will now set sail to Barbados and call as per schedule on 08/24/11. Once the storm passes through the region we shall evaluate the feasibility of the remaining ports on the voyage, for certain the ship will now sail bound for Barbados on Wednesday 08/24/11.

– John Heald

Carnival Cruises is currently trying to arrange transportation to Barbados for all passengers who have missed the ship. The Carnival Liberty has also altered part of her itinerary to the current one…

8/20/11 MIAMI, FL 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
8/21/11 HALF MOON CAY, BAHAMAS 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
8/22/11 GRAND TURK 11.00 AM 4.30PM
******** TO BE CONFIRMED********

– John Heald

We will continue to update on this storm, but if you need a quick update please consult either weather.com or contact your cruise line.

Have a great night!
