IMG_8730

Myth: Cruise ships are boring.

This often cited myth couldn’t be further from the truth. While the classic image of a cruise ships is of passengers lounging around, skeet-shooting, and making a splash in the pool, cruise ships nowadays offer guests an incredible array of fun and entertaining activities. For example, Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas, a standard cruise ship, offers guests a rock climbing wall, surfing simulator, ice skating rink, mini golf, basketball, Broadway style shows, promenade parades. Of course, it’s still possible to enjoy the “old-fashioned” cruise activities such as bingo, karaoke, yoga, and lounging around on the Lido Deck. Result: Busted

Mike, you’re absolutely right. By reading press reports, you’d think that the norovirus is a cruise ship phenomenon, when in fact you’re more than 10 times more likely to contract it on land than on a ship. Sometimes we just need to fact-check the media.
