Myth: I’ll gain weight after a week at sea.

In all honesty, you are only going to gain weight on a cruise if you allow yourself to do so. Yes, cruise ships offer a large number of dining options, many which are complimentary, but it’s easy to avoid gaining weight by saying “no” when you need to. In addition, many cruise lines have begun launching healthy dining options, offering specially designed menus and dishes with your health and well being in mind. In the end, it’s really all about self control and making healthy choices. Result: Busted

Mike, you’re absolutely right. By reading press reports, you’d think that the norovirus is a cruise ship phenomenon, when in fact you’re more than 10 times more likely to contract it on land than on a ship. Sometimes we just need to fact-check the media.
