The Myths of Cruising: Busted

IMG_1104

Myth: Cruise ships are claustrophobic.

Cruise ships nowadays are built with passenger comfort in mind. Gone are the days of small, cramped public rooms. Nowadays, it’s easy to find large, spacious, multi-deck rooms built with the purpose of creating an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation. You will also find that many modern staterooms designs are very similar in size and design as a typical hotel room found ashore. Plus, if you ever feel “trapped,” it’s easy to recover by stepping out on deck and breathing in fresh sea air. Result: Busted

Mike, you’re absolutely right. By reading press reports, you’d think that the norovirus is a cruise ship phenomenon, when in fact you’re more than 10 times more likely to contract it on land than on a ship. Sometimes we just need to fact-check the media.
