Suspicious Package Found At Port Of Tampa During Embarkation

According to local news stations in Tampa, a suspicious package has been found at the Port of Tampa. The package was found on a crate intended to be loaded onto Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas.

TheĀ suspiciousĀ package was detected by a team of bomb sniffing dogs from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office during routine cruise ship terminal inspections. The sheriff’s office has evacuated the cruise terminal out of necessary precaution. All Jewel of the Seas passengers were evacuated from the terminal and waited at a safe distance until an all-clear was given.

As of 4:30pm, the terminal has reopened and embarkation has restarted. No threat has been found.

The Jewel of the Seas will depart tonight at 6:30pm.Ā There will be no impact to the scheduled itinerary.
