Sun Princess Delayed By Technical Difficulties

According to multiple passengers sailing aboard Princess Cruise’s Sun Princess, the ship experienced technical issues prior to sailing from Sydney. The technical issues and the repairs that had to be made ended up delaying the departure of the Sun Princess by 10 hours.

Passengers aboard the Sun Princess reported that they received a letter from the Captain, explaining the ship’s needed repairs and advising them of a revised itinerary. The ship was schedule to sail a 12 night Australia and New Zealand sailing round trip from Sydney. Due to the delayed departure, the ship would need to skip their call in Bay of Islands on October 19th and will instead spend a day at sea to arrive in Auckland on October 20th as scheduled.

As of now, Princess is determining the amount of compensation that will be granted to the ship’s guests. All shore excursions booked through Princess for the Bay of Islands will be refunded.

Cruise Currents has reached out to Princess for a detailed statement and an update on the compensation situation.
