Seabourn Orders New Ship

Following the success of Seabourn’s Odyssey class ships and the departure of the Seabourn Pride, Seabourn has announced that the line will be ordering a fourth Odyssey class ship.

Seabourn has signed a letter of intent with Italy based Fincantieri to build the new unnamed ship. The new Seabourn ship will debut in 2016 and will be used as a replacement for the lost berths from the sale of the Seabourn Pride, Legend, and Spirit to Windstar Cruises.

The new ship will carry around 450 guests and is expected to have a GRT of 32,000.

“We are pleased to be moving forward with the plans we announced earlier this year to build a fourth ship similar to the highly regarded new design we introduced with Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn, and Seabourn Quest,” said Seabourn President Richard Meadows. “The experience and the amenities offered by these award-winning ships have raised the bar in ultra-luxury cruising.”
