Prior to arriving in Galveston for her 2016 Caribbean season, Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas will undergo an extensive renovation, introducing new restaurants and expanded water attractions.
The most noticeable onboard change will appear on the upper decks of Liberty of the Seas. Three new thrilling water slides, collectively known as the Perfect Storm, will be installed on the upper decks surrounding the existing sports area. Among the new slides, Tidal Wave, the first boomerang style slide at sea, will drop guests down onto a vertical wall, inducing a feeling of weightlessness, followed by a free fall back to the ship. Alongside Tidal Wave are two racing slides, Cyclone and Typhoon. Additionally, a new kid friendly waterpark, Splashaway Bay, will feature water cannons, geysers, and other water activities.
Guests will also discover a number of new dining and drinking options aboard Liberty of the Seas. New additions includeĀ Sabor, a Mexican inspired restaurant featuring a mix of modern and authentic Mexican dishes; Giovanni’s Table, a family style ItalianĀ trattoria; and R Bar, a modern and sophisticated cocktail bar.
53 new staterooms, including 26 new Panoramic Ocean View staterooms, featuring floor to ceiling glass windows, will also be introduced aboard Liberty of the Seas, offering guests a new accommodation experience.
Liberty of the Seas will undergo the month long renovation in February 2016, just prior to starting her Caribbean season from Galveston, Texas. Sailing from Galveston, Liberty of the Seas will offer weekly seven night sailing to the western Caribbean.
