It was leaked earlier today by various travel agents that Royal Caribbean will give New Orleans a new ship and itinerary for next year’s fall and winter cruise season.

The Serenade of the Seas will begin sailing out of New Orleans in fall of 2013. This will be Serenade’s first ever year homeporting in New Orleans, and the first Radiance class ship to homeport in New Orleans in the past few years. The Serenade will sail a 7 night western Caribbean route along with and new route, which as never been offered from New Orleans

The Serenade of the Seas will begin sailing a 7 night Bahamas cruise next fall out of New Orleans, visiting Key West, Florida; Nassau, Bahamas; and CoCo Cay, Royal Caribbean’s private island. This is the first time a Bahamas cruise with these ports has been offered from New Orleans. The cruise will also include 3 relaxing days at sea.

With the addition of the Serenade to the New Orleans market, Royal Caribbean is continuing its growth throughout the US Gulf Coast ports. This winter, Royal Caribbean will be sailing the Navigator of the Seas out of New Orleans, the Mariner of the Seas out of Galveston, and the Jewel of the Seas out of Tampa.

At this time, the 7 night Bahamas cruise is not available for booking through the fall and winter months. The only bookings available for Serenade at this time are for the special Christmas cruises.
