Earlier today, Royal Caribbean International announced the sale of Splendour of the Seas to another Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. brand, TUI Cruises. Per the agreement signed between the two lines, Splendour of the Seas will depart the Royal Caribbean fleet in April 2016, where she will begin sailing for TUI Cruises under the Thomson Cruises brand.
“Splendour of the Seas has been a treasured member of the Royal Caribbean International family since she entered service,” said Michael Bayley, president and chief executive officer of Royal Caribbean International. “She has offered countless guests memorable vacation experiences and we look forward to continuing to provide the same Gold Anchor Service our brand is known for right up to the last sailing.”
Splendour of the Seas’ final sailing will embark on April 4, 2016 in Dubai. Her final voyage with Royal Caribbean will sail a 16 night sailing through the Suez Canal, calling in ports throughout Oman, Israel, and Greece before disembarkation in Venice, Italy on April 20th.
Splendour of the Seas joined the Royal Caribbean fleet in June of 1996. She is a member of the Vision Class of ships, sailing alongside five sisters: Vision of the Seas, Legend of the Seas, Rhapsody of the Seas, Enchantment of the Seas, and Grandeur of the Seas.
