Royal Caribbean Receives Financing For Third Quantum Class Ship

According to a report from the Royal Caribbean Blog, Royal Caribbean has secured 92% of the financing for their third Quantum Class ship.

The majority of the ship’s financing will be provided by Hermes, a German credit firm. The loan from Hermes will be for approximately $862 million, which accounts for approximately 92% of the $936 million price tag for the third ship. The remaining financing is expected to be covered by Royal Caribbean International.

Royal Caribbean’s third, unnamed Quantum Class ship is set to begin construction at Meyer Werft’s Papenburg yard in 2015. The Quantum Class ships are Royal Caribbean’s newest class of ships, and include the Quantum of the Seas, debuting in 2014; the Anthem of the Seas, debuting in 2015; and the third, unnamed ship, debuting in 2016.
