River Flooding Causes Widespread River Cruise Cancellations

Recent river flooding throughout Europe has caused many river cruise lines to cancel upcoming sailings. As the week has progressed, more river cruise line sailings have been cancelled. Weather reports state that there is no sign of the flooding to subside in the next week. These cancelled sailings include cruises aboard Viking Cruises, Avalon, Uniworld, APT, and Tauck.

Viking Cruises

Viking Cruises’ June 9th sailings of the Viking Prestige and the Viking Legend. Viking has also cancelled both Elbe River cruises that were to depart on June 8th. Viking has stated that additional cruises have been cancelled, but did not state which cruises would be cancelled. I have reached out to Viking for clarification. All guests on the cancelled sailings will receive full refunds as well as a $500 onboard credit for a future sailing.

Avalon

Avalon has cancelled the June 2nd sailing of the Avalon Visionary, the June 7th sailing of the Avalon Luminary, the June 10th sailing of the Avalon Affinity, the June 8th Grand Danube sailing, and the June 13th Blue Danube Discovery sailing. All guests who would have been sailing on one of these cruises will receive a full refund as well as an unspecified discount on a future cruise.

Uniworld

Uniworld has cancelled the June 7th sailing of the River Ambassador and the June 9th sailing of the River Beatrice. All guests scheduled to sail on these sailings will receive a full refund and a $500 discount on a future sailing.

APT

APT has cancelled the June 8th sailings of the AmaBella and the AmaVerde.

Tauck

Tauck has cancelled the June 6th sailing of the Swiss Sapphire.
