The Queen Mary 2 will soon be setting sail on her 8th season of Transatlantic cruises in the beginning of May. The Queen Mary 2 is the only ocean liner/cruise ship that still provides regular Transatlantic service. The Queen Mary 2 will sail on 19 seven night cruises between New York City and Southampton, England along with 6 nine night crossings between New York City and Hamburg. The 7 night Transatlantic cruises consist of 6 days at sea between the two ports and on the 9 night, 8 days at sea.
The Queen Mary 2 recently went underwent some major renovations that included the addition of a new restaurant, Todd English Restaurant. In the words of Cunard, “Patrons of Queen Mary 2’s specialty restaurant, Todd English, can now enjoy the acclaimed chef’s lunch and dinner offerings a la carte, replacing the original prix-fixe menu. One of the most celebrated chefs in the world, Chef English offers Mediterranean cuisine featuring “common ingredients prepared in uncommon ways.”
Queen Mary 2’s recent refurbishment included decor enhancements in all staterooms and suites, the Canyon Ranch SpaClub, the Queens Grill and Princess Grill Restaurants, the Commodore Club, the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar, Sir Samuel’s Bar and Lounge and the children’s Play Zone. The popular Golden Lion Pub was also completely redesigned.
