Princess Cruises has announced their third Royal Class ship, set to be begin sailing from China in 2017, will be named Majestic Princess. In addition, the new ship will also carry 盛世公主号 (Shèng Shì Gōng Zhǔ Haò) on her hull, interpreted to represent “Grand World” or “Grand Spirit.”
“Royal Princess and Regal Princess were named after iconic previous vessels, while Majestic Princess will carry a name that was chosen by our global employees,” said Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises. “The name Majestic Princess is well suited to the Princess Cruises experience in China, and she will offer a truly magnificent experience to our Chinese guests,” added Swartz.
The new Royal Class ship will offer familiar features found aboard her sisters, including the SeaWalk, the Sanctuary, Movies Under The Stars, the Piazza, and more. Majestic Princess will also feature a number of specialized amenities and tailored onboard experiences to appeal to the Asian clientele the ship will be serving.
