Pixar Themed Cruises Coming to the Disney Wonder

By Kaleigh of Cruize Cast, A Cruise Podcast

Mice, princesses and pirates will be joined this fall on the Disney Wonder by superheroes, cowboys, spacemen and a rat; namely, the most popular characters from Pixar’s hit movies The Incredibles, Toy Story, and Ratatouille.  The characters, along with a host of special events, will take place on four week-long cruises on the California Coast from Sept 16- Oct 14, 2012.  Guests will have the opportunity to interact with these characters through meet and greets as well as dance parties and other events.  While the characters are obviously geared toward the younger set (or the young at heart), there are a variety of other special events which will appeal to the whole family:

Pixar Presentation and Sneak Peeks will give guests a behind the scenes look at the creative process in developing an animated film led by artists and filmmakers from Pixar Animation Studios, along with an inside look at the making of Pixar’s newest feature “Brave” and previews of footage from future releases.

The Art of Pixar  is a special art exhibition at sea which will feature character sketches, environment paintings and other art used to create Pixar films.

Pixar Film Festival will give guests a chance to view the entire Pixar library either from the large LED screen on deck,  in the custom movie theatre on board, the Buena Vista Theatre, or in the privacy of their staterooms.  Additionally, the sailings coincide with the theatrical release of “Finding Nemo 3D” which will be available at either of the two theatres equipped for 3D.

Guests sailing will also receive a commemorative lithograph from “Brave” created by co-director/screenwriter, Steve Purcell.

The Disney Wonder leaves from Los Angeles, and visits the ports of San Francisco, San Diego and Ensenada, Mexico with rates starting as low as $799 based on double occupancy.  Contact your travel agent for further information.

This is such a great way for kids during the summer to not only fall in love with Pixar’s annual release, but to hang out with the characters while on a cruise.
