According to a report by the Bermuda Sun, a passenger sailing aboard the Norwegian Breakaway fell two decks from her exterior balcony prior to arriving in Bermuda on Tuesday.
According to the report, a woman fell two decks and suffered fractured ribs. Norwegian Cruise Line has confirmed to Cruise Currents that the woman fell two decks from her exterior balcony. At this time it is not known how she fell from her balcony.
The woman was initially treated in the medical center aboard the Norwegian Breakaway, but was soon evacuated from the ship for advanced treatment ashore. The Norwegian Breakaway transferred the guest to a pilot boat near St. George’s Harbor on Bermuda’s east end. The passenger was later transferred to an area hospital, where she received additional medical attention.
The Norwegian Breakaway arrived at her scheduled berth on time later that day. As of Friday, the woman involved in the accident was still at a local area hospital.
