Officials Investigating Two Reported Overboards

Law enforcement officials in Puerto Rico and the Cayman Islands are currently investigating two separate reported overboards that have occurred throughout this week.

On Sunday, it was reported that a Canadian man had jumped overboard from Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas while sailing near Puerto Rico. The ship spent a number of hours searching for the man in tandem with the United States Coast Guard. On December 31st, another man was reported to have gone overboard from the Independence of the Seas while en route to Grand Cayman.

Earlier this week, the United States Coast Guard called off the search for the Canadian man near Puerto Rico. Neither man has been found and are both considered lost at sea.

Officials from both the FBI and local Cayman Islands law enforcement are currently investigating the separate overboards. At this time, no official motive or cause for the overboards has been discovered or reported.
