Oasis of the Seas Overview & Photos

This past Saturday, I spent a few hours touring the world’s largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas. Since Oasis’ arrival in 2009, she’s been the talk of the industry. From her zip line to her double rock climbing walls, Oasis of the Seas is the most innovative cruise ship sailing the seven seas.

Upon arrival at the port, the size of the ship really dawns on you. The size is even more evident as you embark and the Royal Promenade appears before you. From the first glance of the Royal Promenade you suddenly realize the amount of innovation this ship  packs. The Royal Promenade is  the main artery of the ship, featuring numerous restaurants, bars, clubs, and even a Starbucks, this is truly a special place. Look up and you will see the skylight leading into Central Park, the open air living park. Central Park is literally a replica of New York ‘s Central Park. With tall trees, tropical flowers, and other various fauna, this is the most relaxing space on this ship. In Central Park you can take a stroll down the winding paths, catch a bite to eat at Chop’s Grille, or even buy a purse at the only Coach store at sea. As you continue moving aft you will suddenly find yourself in another area reminiscent of New York’s Coney Island. You’ve found the Boardwalk. If you’ve brought your kids cruising with you, this will definitely be a major hotspot for your family. The Boardwalk features a carousel (which was actually built just miles from my home,) a candy store, seafood shack, donut shop, and the Aqua Theater. The Aqua Theater is Oasis’ aqua acrobatic theater featuring her signature show, Ocean Aria. This is definitely a show you need to check out as it is unlike any other kind of show you will ever see on a cruise ship. Filled with dancers, divers, and swimmers, it is truly a special show. As you continue walking along the Boardwalk you will notice another one of Oasis’ signature features above, the zip line. Up on the sports deck, along with the zip line, you will find a 9 hole mini golf course, a full NBA regulation basketball court, 2 Flowriders, and various other games such as ping-pong and shuffleboard. As you walk forward you will stumble upon one of Oasis’ five pools and the H20 Zone, a kid’s only water play area. At the very front of the ship you will find the Solarium, an adults only retreat area featuring a pool, whirlpools, palm trees, cantilevered infinity pools and even a cafe. This is truly relaxation and innovation at it’s best.

Now, what I have described here is only a portion of the activities and amenities that Oasis has to offer, this ship cannot really be described unless you can experience it. So I thought the best way for you to experience Oasis of the Seas from home was to give you a quick photo tour of the ship. Hopefully, these photos will help you understand this amazing and innovative ship. Enjoy!
