Norwegian Cruise Line started the freestyle wave in the early 2000’s with a simple slogan – “Freestyle Cruising.” That marketing campaign launched the concept of cruising on your schedule, your choice. Now, Norwegian Cruise Line opens a new chapter of their history with their new marketing campaign, “Feel Free.”
According to Norwegian, the new “Feel Free” campaign “is an invitation for guests to experience Norwegian’s philosophy of what a vacation should be, free from rigid schedules with the freedom to make their vacation their own.” The new campaign will be visible across the fleet, on Norwegian’s social channels, and on nationally broadcasted commercials. Additionally, through January 12, Norwegian is asking cruisers to share their New Year’s resolutions with the hashtag #FeelFree for a chance to win a 7 night cruise aboard a Norwegian ship.
The new campaign was launched to coincide with Norwegian’s latest cruise promotion, Free At Sea, offering guests the option to choose free unlimited beverages, free specialty dining, free shore excursions, or free wifi for their cruise. The campaign also ties in well with the recent announcement of all-inclusive cruising aboard the Norwegian Sky from Miami, Florida to the Bahamas.
Meg Lee, Norwegian Cruise Line’s senior vice-president and chief marketing officer, commented, “The concept of ‘Feel Free’ transcends the idea of traditional cruising and speaks to the experience that is uniquely offered and delivered aboard Norwegian ships: our promise that guests should be free to vacation on their terms.”

I just returned from a cruise on NCL Getaway. This is my 10th cruise, 7th with NCL, and I am looking for a NEW cruise line. The hospitality is gone! I didn’t seek out this article, it just so happens to have been right in my face. The pendulum has swung to far in the opposite directions. Not once in 7 days was I offered a drink. I hope the other Cruise lines don’t follow this model or I will be looking for new ways to enjoy a vacation. I spoke to many guest who felt the same way. They couldn’t get a drink because of long awful lines or waiting. If you didn’t make a reservation 6 weeks or more in advance for dinner or a SHOW forget about it. I have always loved cruising and am a Gold Tier on NCL. I’m jumping ship!
