On April 30th the Norwegian Breakaway set sail from Southampton, England on her transatlantic cruise, which will end in New York City on May 7th. She will then be christened the following day by her godmothers, the Rockettes, while docked in her new homeport. This transatlantic sailing is the first sailing of the Norwegian Breakaway with revenue guests. Her official inaugural sailing will depart on May 12th on a 7 night cruise to Bermuda.
Thanks to the generosity of Norwegian, I have been invited to attend the Breakaway’s christening and to spend the afternoon of the 8th aboard in New York City. I have plans to share parts of the christening and the day live via the Cruise Current’s YouTube channel. I will have more information on these plans on Monday, May 6th. Stay tuned!
The Norwegian Breakaway is the first ship to be launched by Norwegian since the Norwegian Epic was christened in 2010. Norwegian Breakaway will offer guests many new spaces including The Waterfront, and 678 Ocean Place. In addition, Norwegian Breakaway’s entertainment will include three Broadway shows: Rock of Ages, Burn The Floor, and Cirque Dreams & Dinner Jungle Fantasy Norwegian Breakaway will also feature an extensive water park area, SpiceH20, and an exciting fireworks show on every cruise. The Norwegian Breakaway also features an extensive array of restaurants, bars, lounges, and other exciting amenities.
