NewsBrief: MSC Ships Make Maiden Calls In The Americas

MSC Poesia Makes Maiden Call In Buenos Aires

Earlier this week, the MSC Poesia made her maiden call in Buenos Aires, Argentina, marking the beginning of her South American cruise season. The inaugural call was celebrated with local officials, MSC Cruises Executive Director for Brazil and Argentina, Roberto Fusaro and supermodel Valeria Mazza, special “godmother” for the upcoming South American season. In addition, guests were treated to performances by Bajofondo, La Bersuit Vergarabat and Guillermo Guido.

The ceremonies also included a special fund raising event for a local charity, Casa Garrahan. Guests were able to raise $8,142 for the charity, which provides housing for out-of-town children and their mothers while they undergo hospital treatments.

The MSC Poesia will be sailing a variety of South American sailings until April 2014.

MSC Divina Makes Inaugural Call In Port Canaveral

While the MSC Divina will not be calling in Port Canaveral on a regular basis, the Port Authority of Port Canaveral and the MSC Divina’s Command still participated in the traditional plaque exchange.
