NewsBrief: Dance Hostesses Join Crystal, Sanctuary Fee Increase, & More

Crystal Adds Dance Hostesses

A first for the cruise industry, Crystal Cruises has expanded it’s dancing program with the addition of female dance hosts for male guests. The Ambassador Hostesses will join the line’s Ambassador Hosts as dance counterparts for the line’s male passengers without a dance partner. The professionally trained Ambassador Hostesses are scheduled to debut across the line’s three ships in 2014 and 2015.

Princess Raises Sanctuary Entrance Fee

Princess Cruises has announced the entrance fee for the line’s exclusive, adult’s only Sanctuary will now be doubled. Previously, the Sanctuary half day pass would cost $10, and the full day pass would cost $20. Effective immediately throughout the fleet, entrance prices will increase to $20 and $40 respectively. According to Princess, the price increase was implemented to help control demand for the increasingly popular retreat.

Seabourn Chooses Adam D. Tihany As Designer For New Ship

Seabourn has chosen Adam D. Tihany as the primary designer for Seabourn’s soon to be newest ship, launching in 2016. Tihany will create all of the ship’s interior and exterior passenger spaces, including multiple dining venues; the Spa at Seabourn; showrooms; casino and lounges; outdoor deck areas; and Seabourn Square. Tihany has previously worked on a number of high profile projects, including the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, The Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi, and Hotel Cipriani in Venice.
