Navigator Of The Seas Will Debut New Virtual Balconies

Royal Caribbean has announced that the Navigator of the Seas will be the first ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet to sport the newly unveiled virtual balconies aboard the Quantum of the Seas.

On Tuesday, Royal Caribbean unveiled the innovative virtual balcony for interior cabins. Basically, each interior cabin will have a 80″ monitor against the innermost wall that will play live video footage of the ocean 24/7. The live video footage will be supplied by a camera on mounted on the side of the ship relative to the stateroom. The new virtual balconies will redefine the interior stateroom and should provide for brighter and more comfortable interior staterooms.

At the Quantum’s press conference, it was revealed that this new innovation would first appear aboard the Navigator of the Seas next year. The Navigator is scheduled to enter dry dock in January 2014 and along with many other upgrades and repair work, the Navigator will have these virtual balconies installed in every interior stateroom.
