Monarch of the Seas Sails Final Voyage

Only a few hours ago today, the Monarch of the Seas departed Port Canaveral on her final sailing under the Royal Caribbean brand name.

Earlier last year, Royal Caribbean announced that they would be transferring the Monarch of the Seas to their sister cruise line, Pullmantur, a cruise line specifically tailored to the Spanish speaking market. The transfer is set to take place on April 1st, where she will take on her new name, Monarch. Once transferred into the Pullmantur fleet, she will offer year round southern Caribbean cruises from a variety of home ports including Cartagena, Colon, and Oranjestad.

The transfer of the Monarch of the Seas to the Pullmantur fleet comes on the heels of Pullmantur’s removal of the Ocean Dream from the fleet. The acquisition of Monarch of the Seas will add 94% more capacity to the Pullmantur fleet.

The newly revitalized Enchantment of the Seas will take over the Monarch’s cruises from Port Canaveral.
