During my cruise on Holland America Line’s Eurodam, I had the chance to sit down with Paul Lasley and Elizabeth Harryman of OnTravel. Â On their daily radio program, I had the chance to discuss Cruise Currents, the impact of social media in the industry, and the future of the cruise industry. Meet Paul Lasley and Elizabeth Harryman
Travel journalists Paul Lasley and Elizabeth Harryman are married and reach an audience of several million people each month as they write and broadcast in a variety of formats. They have frequently covered travel for network television including NBCâs Today Show and local TV such as KTLA 5 in Los Angeles. They have written travel features for major national and regional magazines along with a regular syndicated column on travel and dining for several major daily newspapers. Paul and Elizabeth are pioneers of interactive travel content on the web.
Elizabeth is Travel Editor of Westways, the magazine of the Automobile Club of Southern California and Editor in Chief of AAAâs Northern New England Journey magazine. She also serves as Consulting Travel Editor for the AAA magazines in Texas, New Mexico, Hawaii and Alabama.
In addition to his reporting, Paul oversees the daily content for OnTravel.com, OnTravel Podcasts and OnTravelâs daily program on America Forces Radio.
You can truly tell that Paul and Elizabeth truly have a passion for traveling, especially cruising. Not only have they cruised on every single Holland America Line ship, but when I asked Elizabeth how many cruises she has sailed on, she responded as saying that she has lost count somewhere after 100!
As a married couple that work together everyday, finding romance is an important part of their travel lives. Their best-selling book, Honeymoons: A Romantic Travel Guide, is winner of a Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Award. Another book on romantic getaways is under development.
Paul & Elizabeth continue to be members of organizations including the American Society of Journalists and Authors, Society of American Travel Writers, SAG, AFTRA, and Equity.
So next time you’re cruising, keep a look out for Paul and Elizabeth, odds are they are cruising with you!
One reply on “Mike on OnTravel Radio”
“It’s good to be on a well-run ship!” Love it, love it, love it!
What a superb interview, Mike! You’re such a great communicator already! As I’ve told you before, you have the wisdom and worldliness of someone far beyond your years.
(By the way, I grew up listening to the American Forces Radio Network, while living in Puerto Rico, the Philippines, Japan and Korea as a boy and teen. It’s all we had out there back in the 1960/70s! It’s great to hear they are still offering superb content and programming!)
