Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas has made her inaugural call in her new homeport, Singapore, this past weekend. She arrived in Singapore after a 11 night repositioning cruise from Dubai, which departed over a week ago. Soon after arriving in Singapore, Mariner of the Seas made her way back to the open sea for a special three night cruise with a call in Port Klang, Malaysia.
The Mariner of the Seas will initially sail three and four night cruises from Singapore to Port Klang and Langkawi and 10 night cruises to Vietnam, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Shanghai. Later this summer, Mariner of the Seas will reposition to Shanghai where she will sail a variety of northern Asia cruises. Later in November, she will once again return to Singapore to sail a more extensive variety of itineraries. In addition to the itineraries she is currently sailing, she will add an additional 7 night cruise to southwestern Asia later this fall.
The addition of the Mariner of the Seas into the Asia cruise market represent a rapid growth of Royal Caribbean’s presence in the region. While her first time being homeported in Asia, Mariner of the Seas is the fourth Royal Caribbean ship to call Asia home. Other Royal Caribbean ships that have sailed the region include the Voyager of the Seas, Legend of the Seas, and Rhapsody of the Seas.
