Holland America Extends Dancing With The Stars At Sea Through 2014

Holland America Line has announced that they will continue their partnership with Dancing with the Stars throughout 2014.

hal logo singleSeason 2 of the partnership is set to begin at January 2014 with the new season featuring 6 theme cruises throughout 2014. The 2014 theme cruises, featuring dance professionals and celebrities from the show will take place on ms. Zuiderdam’s June 14th and 21st departures from Vancouver to Alaska, ms. Westerdam’s July 26th and August 2nd departures from Seattle to Alaska,  and ms. Westerdam’s November 29th departure from Fort Lauderdale to the eastern Caribbean. The Finale theme cruise will be onboard ms. Westerdam’s December 6th departures from Fort Lauderale to the eastern Caribbean.

Each theme cruise will host a number of celebrities and dance professionals from the show, who will teach guests various dances from the show in the ship’s main lounges. Guests will also be treated to a fashion show, featuring costumes from the TV show, photo opportunities, special events with the stars, and a finale production show featuring fellow guests and the stars from the TV show.

Every sailing until the Finale sailing will allow guests to compete in onboard dance competitions to win the chance to represent their ship in the program’s Finale sailing on December 6th. Guests will compete in “mini competition’s” in their dance classes, where a finalist will be selected. The finalist will then be paired with a member of the ship’s dance team, where they will then compete in the finale production show. Each winner from each sailing on their respective ship will then be entered to be one of 15 winners competing in the Finale. The 15 winners will then be given the chance to compete on the Finale cruise in December for a chance at winning the Mirror Ball trophy.

Winners with the highest score from each ship will be notified beginning Oct. 31, 2014 that they have won a free ocean view stateroom on the Dec. 6, 2014, Champions Cruise to compete for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy and title of Holland America Line’s “Dancing with the Stars: At Sea” Champion.

The second season of Dancing with the Stars At Sea is looking up to be another success for Holland America Line and BBC following a popular and successful first season. Holland America Line’s season 1 of Dancing of the Stars is set to conclude on Nieuw Amsterdam’s January 12th sailing from Fort Lauderdale.
