The Italian Coast Guard has recently reported that the commemorative bell that was located on the Costa Concordia’s bow has gone missing. Apparently it went missing just days ago, and even the mayor of Giligo (the island where the ship capsized) thinks that it was stolen by diver thieves.
Italian prosecutors have now opened a case to find the missing bell and to punish the people who may have stolen it. The Italian Coast Guard has also said that it may have just came loose, fallen off, and is lying somewhere on the sea bed.
We will update this story if anything else “surfaces,” like the bell maybe.
One reply on “Have you seen this bell? Concordia Bell missing.”
Why didn’t they remove it earlier? It seems like it would have been an important part of history to preserve. What a shame.
