Fathom Adds Additional Sailings To Meet Rising Demand

Fathom, Carnival Corporation’s new social impact cruise brand, has just announced additional sailings through December 2017 to meet rising demand from travelers.

The new sailings aboard Fathom’s Adonia extend from late November 2016 through December 2017. The new sailing dates will continueĀ Adonia’s current schedule, sailing weekly from Miami to either Amber Cove (Puerto Plata) in the Dominican Republic or to Havana, Santiago de Cuba, and Cienfuegos in Cuba.

“The decision to add 2017 Fathom sailing dates underscores our enthusiasm for Fathom and our experience to date with the impact it is having,” saidĀ Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corporation. “The feedback from travelers, travel professionals, community leaders and our own employees has been extremely positive. Our travelers and trade partners are asking for additional sailing dates ā€“ and we are happy to oblige.”

Guests sailing with Fathom can participate in a variety of impact activities onshore, ranging from planting trees, participating in a local co-op, or even teaching English to local schoolchildren. The positive and uplifting activities ashore also extend to the ship, with guests being offered the chance to participate in numerous onboard community events, classes, workshops, and traditional cruise activities.

“We have been humbled by the tremendous response Fathom has received from travelers eager to experience Fathom while helping the Dominican Republic to flourish and making history through human connections and immersive experiences in Cuba,” said Tara Russell, president of Fathom and global impact lead for Carnival Corporation. “Fathom resonates with travelers as the best way to travel with intention, to culturally immerse, to experience and to see more. For example, Fathom visits three incredible, diverse locations in Cuba during its itinerary while having the convenience of unpacking once and savoring the comforts of premium accommodations aboard the intimate, small-ship, MV Adonia ā€“ not to mention its excellent and diverse dining, service and onboard amenities.”

Fathom’s new sailing dates in 2016 are currently available for booking, whileĀ 2017 sailings will be open for booking beginning on June 1.
