Disney Dream Rescues 2 Stranded Boaters

boaters2Earlier this Wednesday, while sailing through the Bahamas, the Disney Dream received a distress call from a small boat, which was carrying two U.S. citizens.

The Disney Dream immediately notified the US Coast Guard about the stranded boat, and set course for the stranded boat and soon arrived at the scene. Once the Dream arrived, crew members lowered a rescue boat and met up with the small boat. The two stranded boaters were taken aboard the rescue boat and transferred to the Dream where they received food and medical attention. Neither of the boaters sustained any major injuries.

Disney sent out a statement praising the Dream’s crew for their quick and efficient response: “We are proud of our Disney Dream crew members, who skillfully demonstrated their training and commitment to maritime protocols around saving lives at sea.”

The two boaters and the Dream returned to Port Canaveral yesterday.
