Rumors have recently been surfacing across Disney forums about the future of Disney Cruise Line. Posters coming off Disney ships recently circulated reports from crew of a big announcement coming in the next few weeks. Some posters have claimed that crew members confirmed that Disney would be announcing the construction of two new ships, or in some cases, the Disney Wonder and Magic would be receiving extensive renovations later this year.
I reached out to Disney Cruise Line to get their take on the rumors. I received a response very quickly from a Disney Cruise Line spokesperson, “Our current focus at Disney Cruise Line is on our existing fleet. We are excited about an announcement we are making in a few weeks, but it is not about building more ships.” While that rules out the new ships, it still does leave the rumor of renovations to Wonder and Magic on the table. Honestly though, the announcement could be anything. Disney Cruise Line could be announcing a new homeport, a new destination, or even a new partnership with a Disney brand.
For the time being, we will just have to wait and see what happens. Referencing the quote above, something is definitely stirring at Disney Cruise Line.
