Finally, it’s time to announce my cruise for this summer. Are you ready? Well here we go…
On July 12th I will be jetting off to Rome, Italy to join the Mariner of the Seas on July 14th on a 7 night Western Mediterranean cruise. After departing Civitavecchia we will sail to Genoa, Italy; Ajaccio, Corsica; Barcelona, Spain; Palma De Mallorca, Spain; Cagliari (Sardinia), Italy; and then finally a day at sea before returning to Rome. We have most of our shore excursions planned already, but I want to keep them a surprise until I blog about them during the cruise.
Now, the ship. Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas is one of the world’s largest cruise ships belonging to the Voyager Class of ships. Some of her most innovative amenities include: an ice-skating rink, rock-climbing wall, inline skating, and a 4 story high Royal Promenade which features an array of shops and restaurants, including a Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream shop! , Mariner recently underwent the Royal Advantage renovations and received a poolside theater, digital signage, Giovanni’s Table Italian Restaurant, and the Boardwalk Dog House (hot dogs.)
I have never cruised the Mediterranean before, so I am a bit nervous, but it’s a cruise and I will obviously have a great time. If you have been on a Mediterranean cruise before, please feel free to share your tips and experiences in the comment section below. I would love to hear your stories and possible excursion ideas! Also, if you have any questions about my cruise, feel free to also leave a comment below. During this cruise, I will try to tweet often using the hash tag #MikeyonMariner. So make sure to follow me on Twitter soon, to make sure you can get my updates on my cruise. I am really looking forward to this new experience and sharing it with all of you. I will be posting more as the cruise gets closer, so keep an eye out for my posts.
Have a great day everyone!
-Mikey

Why wasn’t I invited? Only port on this itinerary I have been to is Roma. Two hour scenic drive to port. Cruised Europe twice and my parents took me London and Amsterdam when I was in the fifth grade. It’s I knew I would be a travel agent one day.
[…] than air travel. Trust me. If I didn’t believe in the cruise industry, I wouldn’t be embarking on a Mediterranean cruise this Saturday, but I am, because I trust the cruise line’s will take care of me and do what is in the best […]
