On my final day of Cruise3Sixty, I had the great pleasure and honor of meeting one of the biggest names in cruising. Christine Duffy, the CEO of CLIA.
Shortly after arriving in Vancouver Airport, I received a tweet from the CLIA Twitter account informing me that Christine Duffy wished to meet me sometime during Cruise3Sixty. I was honestly surprised to hear she wanted to meet me, but I was also very excited! Finally, my day of meeting her had arrived and as I walked towards the convention center, I became more nervous to meet her.
Suddenly, I was walking towards her and upon seeing her welcoming smile my nerves disappeared. We chatted for awhile about the cruise industry and my website in particular. It was so great to hear her thoughts on my involvement in the industry and the work I have done with my website. Throughout our conversation, I still couldn’t believe I was meeting her and that she was talking about my website. I probably seemed a little shy and quiet, but it was for the reason mentioned in the sentence before. I was truly lucky to have met her and to have her share her thoughts on my website and my future in the industry. Meeting Christine will definitely go down in my books as one of the main highlights of my cruise industry career thus far.
