Your Cruise Questions Answered: Regal Princess

During our sailing aboard Regal Princess, we received a number of questions from our readers about the ship and her onboard experience. We’ve selected a few of these questions to help answer your questions about Princess’ newest ship, the Regal Princess.

Q: Does the Regal Princess have a pool at the stern? – Leo S.

A: Yes, Leo, the Regal Princess does feature a small pool and two hot tubs at her stern. Regal’s earlier sister, Royal Princess currently does not feature an aft pool. The aft pool aboard Regal Princess was added following feedback from guests sailing aboard her sister.

Q: Where will the Regal be sailing to from Fort Lauderdale? – Kelsi F.

A: The Regal Princess is currently sailing a 7 night eastern Caribbean itinerary through April 2015. The itinerary includes calls in Princess Cays, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. Three days are spent sailing at sea. Regal Princess will sail a special 28 night repositioning cruise on April 15 from Port Everglades to Copenhagen.

Q: Are there self-service laundry services aboard Regal Princess? – Kevin A.

A: Yes, the Regal Princess features self-service laundromats on each deck with staterooms (decks 8-15) with the exception of deck 16. The use of the washer and dryer are complimentary. Detergent may be purchased using your room key.

Q: I’ve heard rumors the Regal Princess has a batting cage, are these rumors true? – Matthew T.

A: Indeed Matthew, the rumors are true. The Regal Princess features a portable batting cage located at Princess Sports Central (decks 18-19).

Q: What is the difference between the Retreat pool and the Sanctuary? Do I need to purchase a pass to the Sanctuary to use the pool? – Susan O.

A: The Retreat Pool and the Sanctuary are two separate areas, both located on deck 17. While guests must pay a small fee to use the Sanctuary, the Retreat Pool is open to all adults throughout the day. However, guests can purchase a private cabana at the Retreat Pool for $50 with the option to add on a picnic basket for a small fee. By night, the Retreat Pool transforms into a swanky outdoor lounge, complimentary to the Regal’s guests.
