Cruise Currents Goes Collegiate – Explaining The Silence

Well, some of you might be wondering where we’ve all been, right? As it turns out, the Cruise Currents staff and I have been very busy the last few weeks, leading to an unintentional vow of silence being taken by Cruise Currents.

Our contributors have been out traveling and I’ve been preparing for college.  Yes, I’m finally off to college. As some of you might recall, I announced earlier this year my plans to attend Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. So, to make my explanation short, my last few weeks have been jam packed with various travels and college preparation, leading to the aforementioned unintentional vow of silence. For this lapse in news reporting and general cruise information happiness, I apologize.

Not to worry though, Cruise Currents is sailing back on course. While I move into my new dorm and begin my classes at FAU, our contributors (in addition to myself) will begin the smooth start up of Cruise Currents once again. All I ask for these next few weeks is your patience and understanding. This is a very hectic and important time for myself that will require almost all of my attention. Throughout high school, it was easier to place Cruise Currents over my Physics homework (sorry Mr. Becker), but for the moment, my classes will require my near full attention.

Cruise Currents is on a path for tremendous growth again this year and it is all thanks to you, the readers, the cruisers. Trust me, I love having you here, and I ask that you remain with me as Cruise Currents and I aim for our Master’s here in South Florida, the Cruise Capital of the World.

Go Owls!

Your Editor and College Freshman,

Mike.

Wishing you all the very best, Mike, as you embark on this next very important phase of your life! You’ve a terrific future ahead of you, but the world will have to wait just a bit while you gather the “official” credentials to back-up your already worldly experience and world-wise perspective.

Oh, and welcome to Florida life, too! (Now settled near Orlando….finally!)

Hi Mike! My name is Johnny Diaz and I’m a staff writer at the Sun Sentinel newspaper. I am writing a story on former cruise ships from South Florida and I wanted to talk to you about that and your site. Can you email me your contact information: [email protected] Thank you!
