Coming Back New With Princess Cruises

Only about a month ago, Princess Cruises introduced their new slogan, “Come Back New.” While I initially was disappointed in the decision to phase out “Escape Completely” and transition into the new slogan, I can now fully understand the idea behind the new slogan after sailing aboard Ruby Princess this past week.

Cruising is much more than a mode of transportation, it’s a completely unique experience. Each cruise line offers guests a different experience, whether that be one of non stop fun, traditional sailing, premium indulgences, or a larger than life experience. My experience with Princess was one of escaping the world around me. In my case, it was one of being removed from the classroom, stepping away from driving on snowy highways, walking partially away from this website. My experience was one of escaping completely from reality, an experience once declared as Princess’ former slogan. This is not what cruising is about.

Cruising is much more than just sailing at sea and escaping the world around us. Cruising is an experience that changes a person. There is something about cruising that recharges or reinvents a person, something that helps them come back new. Princess has always been proud to promote themselves as cruising the world as it was meant to be. The experience Princess offers is one of enrichment, relaxation, and revitalization. Distractions at sea are exactly what they are – distractions. Cruising shouldn’t be about distracting yourself from the world, but of allowing yourself to step back and see the world for what it truly is. Cruising is about enriching our lives, allowing relationships to blossom, learning about other cultures, seeing the world from a different point of view.

Princess asks us in their latest commercial, have we forgotten what cruising is?  To this question, I say not yet. Many cruise lines still hold true to the real cruising experience, but Princess, as one of the most visual cruise lines since the debut of the Love Boat, has been offering the true cruising experience since 1965. Cruising is rapidly growing, but we cannot forget what cruising is truly about at it’s core. Cruising is not just a distraction, it’s an experience that can change a person. It can change our outlook on life, it can teach us things we’ve never known, it enriches us. Sailing with Princess Cruises has shown me the way cruising is meant to be done. Princess understands cruising for the experience it truly is and consistently delivers that experience to its guests. After my experience of sailing with Princess this past week, I’ve also come to realize cruising is much more than stepping away from the world, it’s about allowing the world to enrich your life and change who you are. I have Come Back New.
