Celebrity Infinity Involved In Minor Collision

Yesterday, while the Celebrity Infinity was docked in Port Stanley of the Falkland Islands, a small bunker barge collided with the moored Celebrity Infinity. The collision between the two ships damaged one of the Celebrity Infinity’s lifeboat davits, requiring immediate repairs.

While the lifeboat davit was repaired prior to departure of Port Stanley, the Celebrity Infinity needed to leave the tender lifeboat behind for unstated reasons. The Celebrity Infinity is able to proceed with her sailing without the tender lifeboat, as the ship carries extra lifeboats for reasons such as this.

Due to the extra time required in port for repairs, the Celebrity Infinity will be forced to cancel her call to Puerto Madryn, Argentina on February 27th. Instead, the ship will remain at sea and extend her call in Montevideo, Uruguay by three hours.

The Celebrity Infinity is currently sailing a 14 night Antarctica sailing, which departed Buenos Aires on February 15th and will conclude on March 2nd.
