Young Boy Drowns Aboard Carnival Victory

A board message from a member of Cruise Critic is reporting that a young boy was found unconscious in one of the Carnival Victory’s pools.

The message goes on to report that the ship’s DJ, DJ Alex, first spotted the young boy. Another passenger quickly dove into the pool, brought the boy out onto the deck, and administered CPR. The boy was not able to be revived.

Here is Carnival’s official statement on this tragic accident:

“Yesterday, Oct. 13, on board the Carnival Victory, while the ship was at sea on the last leg of a four-day Caribbean cruise, a six-year-old boy drowned in the midship pool. He was at the pool area with other family members at the time.

Carnival extends its heartfelt sympathy to the family during this very difficult time. The company’s CareTeam is providing assistance and support.”

Our prayers go out the young boy, his family, and all those involved in this terrible accident.

so sad this happened!!! i just got off a cruise and there were so many kids running around without any parents in sight it’s a shame. a girl around 6 threw a cup of hot water on another kid and the mother was sitting by the pool drunk the whole time. the ships need better security to make the parents watch their children!!!
