Carnival To Begin China Sailings In 2017, 2 Ships Committed

Carnival Cruise Line has announced that beginning in 2017, the “Fun Ships” will be coming to China.

Beginning in spring 2017, Carnival will homeport one ship in China, offering a variety of year-round itineraries for the booming Chinese cruise market. Carnival has not yet announced which ship will homeport in China or where the ship will sail. In order to better appeal to cruisers in China, Carnival intends to modify their onboard experience to match the preferences of their Chinese guests.

“We are very excited to bring the truly special and unique cruise experience that has made Carnival the world’s most popular cruise line to China,” said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy.  “More than 4.5 million guests a year choose to spend their vacations with us based on the high quality, enjoyable and memorable experience we provide and we look forward to introducing Chinese consumers to the Carnival brand.”

10/28 Update: Today, Carnival Cruise Line has announced the commitment of two ships to the Chinese market beginning in 2017. The Carnival Miracle will begin sailing from China in 2017, followed by the addition of the Carnival Splendor in 2018. Both ships will sail from their Chinese homeports year round. No additional information on specific homeports or itineraries has yet been released by Carnival. Bookings for the new sailings are expected to open in 2016.
