Carnival Sunshine Sets Sail On Inaugural Sailing From Port Canaveral

Over the weekend, Carnival Cruise Line’s newly transformed Carnival Sunshine set sail on her inaugural sailing from Port Canaveral, her new year round homeport.

As the Carnival Sunshine departed Port Canaveral towards the Caribbean, the ship and her guests were greeted by a large crowd along the channel at Jetty Park. The crowd cheered and waved to the Carnival Sunshine, while a group spelled out “Bon Voyage” on a number of large posters. As the ship sailed towards open waters, she was also accompanied by a fire boat, performing the traditional water cannon salute.

The Carnival Sunshine’s inaugural Caribbean sailing from the port will have the ship calling at Grand Turk, St. Thomas, Tortola, St. Maarten on an eight day eastern Caribbean sailing. Throughout the year, the Carnival Sunshine will offer a variety of five to eight day sailings to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
