Carnival Cruise Lines has announced that they have partnered up with Dr. Seuss Enterprises to bring the world of Seuss to sea. The new Seuss At Sea program will offer guests a variety of youth, family, dining and entertainment experiences centered around the world of Seuss.
Guests will have the opportunity to dine with the Cat in the Hat, Thing One and Thing Two, and Sam during a special theme breakfast held on the first sea day of each sailing. Guests will be able to choose from a menu of Seuss inspired items including green eggs and ham, moose juice, goose juice, and other breakfast favorites. The special breakfast will cost $5 per person.
In addition to the theme breakfast, the ships will also offer a selection of classic Dr. Seuss books, toys and themed activities for children, Seuss movies on the poolside big screen, special meet and greets, photo opportunities, and Seuss story time for children.
The Carnival Freedom, which will be undergoing a renovation in May 2014, will receive a special Dr. Seuss Bookville facility — a unique and dedicated Seuss-themed play space featuring iconic décor, colors, shapes and funky furniture inspired by the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss.
“Our youth and family programming continues to be highly rated and extremely popular with the millions of families who sail with Carnival, but we’re constantly challenging ourselves to uncover unique and interesting ways to further enhance our guest experience,” said Mark Tamis, senior vice president of guest operations for Carnival Cruise Lines. “We are thrilled to bring the fun, whimsical and wonderful world of Dr. Seuss to life for our guests of all ages to create even more fun and memorable moments during our cruise vacations.”
The Seuss At Sea program is scheduled to debut on the Carnival Splendor in February 2014 and will be rolled out to the entire fleet by 2015. The Carnival Vista will debut with the program when she enters the fleet in 2016.
