Earlier yesterday in Venice, Italy, the Carnival Breeze briefly encountered a scary situation.
Carnival Cruise Lines says, that yesterday, at approximately 6:20 pm Italian time (12:20 pm eastern US time) during embarkation in Venice, Italy, the Carnival Breeze became disengaged from the dock following wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour. No injuries or damage to the ship were reported.
When the ship began being pulled away from the pier due to the high winds, as a precautionary measure, the captain immediately performed a maneuver that stabilized the vessel’s movement. The ship was able to re-dock with the assistance of tugs at approximately at 7:25 p.m. Italian time (1:25 pm eastern US time) and embarkation resumed without incident.
The Carnival Breeze overnighted in Venice as scheduled and departed on its 12-day Mediterranean cruise this morning on time.
The 12-day voyage from Venice is part of the Carnival Breeze’s summer schedule of European cruises which runs through October 25.
