Carnival Cruise Line has announced that their newest ship will be named Carnival Vista.
Carnival’s CMO Jim Berra described the new ship’s name as “a touchstone for how we think of the design.”
According to Carnival, the new ship will offer a wide variety of dining, bar, and entertainment options that are a part of Carnival’s innovative Fun Ship 2.0 initiative. The new ship will also feature new, unique amenities that will only be found aboard the Carnival Vista.
The Carnival Vista will be built by Fincantieri and will launch in 2016. The Carnival Vista will be Carnival 25th ship and will be their largest to date. The Carnival Vista will have a GRT of 135,000 and will carry 4,000 passengers.

Are there any plans in the future for a Carnival Cruise ship originating from New Orleans? Thanks!!
Hi Fredalee,
The Carnival Elation and Triumph are currently sailing from New Orleans. Later this year, the Carnival Conquest will be replaced by the Carnival Sunshine. Then around summer 2014, the Carnival Sunshine will be replaced by the Carnival Dream. Sufficient to say, New Orleans has a good mix of Carnival ships that will be sailing from the port for the next few years. -Mike
Mike, I believe the Triumph is still sailing from Galveston.
Yes, she is. I just realized I wrote Triumph instead of Conquest. Thanks for the heads up.
