A rendering of the future Cape Liberty Cruise Port has been leaked on the internet, showing the new, planned terminal facility. The rendering appears to show what the new port would look like, in addition to showing the presence of the Explorer of the Seas, which is currently based at Cape Liberty.
According to Cruise Addicts, “theĀ redevelopment calls for a new terminal for cruise guests as well as new parking facilities.” The new terminal would be built to allow the new Quantum of the Seas to easily embark and disembark guests. The Quantum of the Seas is set to begin sailing from Cape Liberty beginning in fall of 2014.
The construction of the new terminal facility at Port Liberty is expected to begin in the coming months and has a price tag of about $50 million. The Cape Liberty cruise port is currently served by Royal Caribbean and Celebrity on various ships throughout the year.
