Another cruise line unveils ‘all-you-can-drink’ alcohol deal.

Yet another cruise line is rolling out “all-you-can-drink” alcohol packages.

Oceania Cruises says two different options will be available on its ships by the end of January: a package that includes unlimited beer and house wine with lunch and dinner that costs $29.95 per person, per day; and a package offering unlimited beer, premium wine and most bar menu drinks that costs $49.95 per person, per day. The package prices include gratuities.

Oceania follows in the footsteps of Celebrity Cruises, which began offering all-you-can-drink alcohol packages in 2009. Read more about Celebrity’s drinks packages.

Royal Caribbean also began offering all-you-can-drink packages this year on three ships based overseas but has not expanded the concept fleetwide. Read more about Royal Caribbean’s drinks packages.

The lines say the unlimited drinks packages are designed as a convenience for customers, and indeed they have proved popular with cruising regulars. In a Cruise Log poll this year, nearly two-thirds of more than 22,000 readers who voted said they definitely would use an unlimited drinks package because they preferred knowing their drink spending costs upfront.

Oceania says its unlimited drinks packages can be booked in advance of sailing online or through a travel agent, and they also can be booked onboard ships.
