7 Deadly Sins Of Cruising

The great majority of cruisers are “angels” when it comes to cruising etiquette. Every one in awhile though, we slip up and we commit one of the 7 deadly sins of cruising. Let’s face it, most of us have committed one of these sins at least once. The best thing we can do is to admit we’ve failed and rise above it. So, in the spirit of reconciliation, let’s put down our high piled buffet plates and take our towels off our unused chairs and take a look at the 7 deadly sins of cruising.

Oh dear! I’ve committed a sin or two. Yes I have saved a seat on lido for my hubby, I’ve put the room service tray in the hall and ONE time only we slept thru muster drill. I always tip extra and since my daughter is in a wheelchair I would never jump in front of someone at the elevator. Had that happen too many times to us. Food, I usually try to skip the buffets. oops forgot one!

probably got more than i could eat.. but not that much! looks like the only one im guilty of!
i hate seat savers… dealt with that my first cruise tried compliaing after watching no one for over an hour using a row of loungers.. the attendants acted like they couldnt understand me and they couldnt speak english …i will never do it and i dont let my kids! .. we have sat patiently at tables and waited and waited to no avail… one day at sea we never even got a lounger in the sun but many were never used……people are rude..

Tipping? Why? The crew got their monthly salary from the cruiseline. If the cruiseline dont pay salary its slavery!

If you have not realized already, it is a very low salary (about $4.40 minimum) working all day and all month straight.

Thats slavery. And its a scam. In their glossy pictures the cruise industry selling their cruises for fantastic low prices. In the same pictures they should tell the passengers that they have to pay the crew salary.

Same thing shoreside; You walk in to a restaurant and check the menu; Your food cost 10$; Looks good and cheap; … Taste good also. When leaving you must pay the waiters and cooks salary. Its a system and its a scam!

Sorry guys; I know you are hard working people , but the tipping culture is a scam culture. You should demand higher salary from your employer not from the passenger.

The tipping system also move all the 1-dollars below the taxradar. The IRS (US Gov) should stop the tipping culture. Probably its to late anyway…
