BREAKING NEWS (8:14PM) The 3 missing passengers have now been found 40 minutes west of Ocho Rios, unharmed inside a small ocean villa. 5:45pm Update: We have just received the following statement from Carnival regarding the incident…

On Thursday, July 26, three members of the same family who were sailing on the Carnival Freedom failed to re-board the vessel following a day-long port call in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.  The family disembarked the vessel on their own and were not participating in a shore excursion organized by the ship.

All appropriate authorities were notified and Carnival’s CareTeam has reached out to the family’s emergency contact numbers listed in their booking history, as well as the travel agent who booked the cruise.  Carnival will continue to work with authorities in an effort to locate the members of this group.

Carnival Freedom is currently sailing on a six-day cruise that departed Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Sunday, July 22 and returns tomorrow July 28.

I will do my best to keep this story updated as further information develops.

In the meantime, please keep these guests in your prayers.
