21 Royal Caribbean Passengers Involved In Shore Excursion Accident

21 passengers sailing aboard Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas were involved in a traffic accident today on the island of Jamaica.

The accident, involving 21 passengers on a shore excursions, occurred in Falmouth on a busy road between the port and Dunn’s River Falls, a popular tourist attraction. The accident has hospitalized at least three and sadly killed one.

“Today 21 guests from Independence of the Seas participating in an excursion were involved in a traffic accident in Falmouth, Jamaica,” read a statement from Royal Caribbean. “We are saddened to report that a guest passed away. Three other guests were injured and are being treated at the local hospital. Crew members have gone to the hospital to assist. Join us in keeping them in our thoughts and prayers.”

According to Royal Caribbean, crew members from the ship have gone ashore to assist passengers in the hospital and at the scene.
